AVICENNA Junior & Middle School

The Avicenna School has been registered with Cambridge International as a Cambridge Associate School in Karachi since 1996. We are committed to providing value-based education at every level starting from Playgroup/Montessori (known as the Avicenna Aspirations program) to Junior/Senior and O’ Level at the Avicenna School.

We are committed to providing value-based education at all levels with a strong emphasis on academics and develop self-motivation and ability of a young mind to discover his/her own capabilities. We constantly update the curriculum through collaborations with recognized national and international educational institutions. The combination of high-quality and experienced faculty has always been the Avicenna advantage.

We are offering this at Tipu Sultan Girls campus and Clifton Campus

Avicenna ensures that our students transition from preschool to junior school level and from junior to middle school level in an uninterrupted flow. The challenges posed by the new curriculum and advancements in learning objectives are met by providing a supportive and nurturing, yet orderly environment where students engage with their teachers who are qualified and trained to cater to the needs of the students respective grade levels.

Our goal at each school level is to instill in students the skills of critical thinking rather than rote learning. Students from Grade I onward are trained in reading, writing, speaking and listening as far as teaching of languages is concerned. Additional subjects taught include: Mathematics, Islamiat, Computer Studies, Literature, Science and Environmental Studies/Social Studies/History, and Geography.

Arabic is also taught from Grade I to VI as a part of our skills development program.

Formal testing begins when the students reach Grade III and are adequately prepared to respond to and review such assessments.

At the levels of Grades I and II, students are exposed to informal, guided testing but are not marked. We believe in laying a strong academic foundation by allowing students to enjoy the entire process of learning and by acquiring confidence in their own learning ability.

Academic advancement is our top priority.  However, students are also introduced to a program known as Value Based Education that includes a specially customized curriculum for each level starting at Grade I.

Through this program, we aim to inculcate social skills and etiquette amongst our students that include establishing healthy and positive relationships, both inside and outside the school.  In addition, our students learn about being compassionate and accepting diversity, as well as learning manners relating to dining, to speaking and to carrying oneself with poise.

The program encompasses the overall personality grooming of every child.

Physical movement and social interaction facilitates learning. Junior & Middle School offers activities which include sports, music classes, taekwondo, pottery and field trips for our students.
Additionally, Junior & Middle School has monthly activities to instill skills and information on themes such as hygiene, healthy eating habits, being polite and respectful, colors and cultures, seasons and other important matters.

All of the above learning objectives are supported by our well-equipped Library, Computer Lab, an Audio Visual Room and the school ground used for out of class engagements.
